(1:43 scale) slot set that I love. I was wanting to get some more cars for it. I am totally new to slot cars so I don't know anything about compatibility. Do I have to use Carrera cars? Are there other brands that will be compatible with my track? What do you seasoned veterans recommend as far as cars go? Most of the reviews I have found are all 1:32 or 1:24 scale cars - which I would love, but cannot afford until student loans are paid off! Thanks so much for your time and help! -Alex A. P.S. Just for fun I uploaded my layout to my profile album. Check it out and let me know what you think! I took the pics with my comp's built in camera so for some reason everything is backwards, but you get the idea. I had a awkward L-shaped space to work with so I had to be a little creative... It is not imperative you use Carrera cars only. Artin, SCX, and Jiada cars will also run on the track - or you can custom build your own cars. For reviews and ideas, read through the threads throughout this entire forum and the links you find at the top of the pages - lots of info available. The track is great use of that awkward L-shaped space. Tried that once here but the wife wouldn't have any part of it!

The Carrera Go! cars are running good, the SCX will also run fine on Carrera track for the start. Artin and Jiada cars are normalley run with 6 to 7.5 V and not 14.8 volt like the carreras and will need another motor or another power suppy to run good. for some very good tips, i would recommend reading a little through Philippe´s site: http://homepage.mac.com/pmarchand/newindex.htm if got question, let us know, you will get answers, even if they are a little funny sometimes are you using the stock controllers with the turbo buttons by now? I have had Carrera track for almost 4 year now, and I think it is the best, along with SCX, because of lane width and slot depth. It allows the use of all makes of cars as stated above, with some modifications to the cars. The recommended dosage of reading as stated by Liberty is the cure for questions. This board took us from pure Carrera people to having the ability to see what can be done in this scale. Then SCX came along, and upped that ability. Have fun, and if/when confused, jump on here and get the answers, and some humor, too. P.S.: Just saw your track. Great use of space. If you are in to loops and ramps, there is only one solution for running Artin cars. Strong magnets. You'll have to lower the magnets on the SCX's also, and some brands will not go through loops because of ride height. Also, check out the tracks on the pinned thread.
