From This first post where i asked for help: http://homeracingworld.yuku.com/topic/8402 I've figured this out...
I've opened up my Digital control panel, and identified one very dead resistor. What i need for one fo you guys is to open your control panel and note down the resistor colour code (and maybe even measure the resistance across it if possible)?
Here is what it looks like when the bottom cover is removed and the board flipped over
And here is the resistor I'm interested in:
So why has this blown? Well - I don't know! But it IS on the main (15v) voltage line into the system, and as such is a good candidate to let go. The R29 resistor next to it looks like it might have been affected as well - if someone can visually confirm the color code is the same as mine (gold, brown, black, orange) - i'd appreciate it...
Interestingly - the resistors are the cheapest crappy looking things I've ever seen. I'm tempted to figure out all the specs of the units on the board, to make future repairs easier for us all...
So, if anyone is willing to do some non-destructive investigating, it'll probably help all of us out in the future, as I suspect I'm not alone in suffering from this particular problem.
Cheers,
Dave
