Been just short of three months since construction began but cars are running again. It's 5' by 10' except for the hairpin end (south) which is
4' wide. The design is based on the So-Cal track in The Slot Car Bible, page 95. The original design is a 4'
by 8' with 30' lane length. With the extra width I increased all the turn radius by at least 1" and increased the lane spacing to 4" in some
sections. The north end is elevated with mild banking. It was routed on two sheets of 1/2" MDF. Two coats of mag paint followed by gray latex primer.
Height is 48" and there is at least 18" on three sides for access.
My last routed track was a kidney shape with banking on every turn. This track has longer lane length and races much slower, which is what I was aiming for. I'm planning to go for full scenery with this track once it's sorted out. Thanks for looking and keep on slotting!
