A small desert scenic track |
Lead | |
|
I had it in my mind to try a routed track and decided on a small desert theme. It took a bit longer to do than I anticipated, but perhaps it's because it
was my first attempt at doing a routed track. Anyway, I thought I'd share the completed photos with the general forum. The track is 2'x10' so it
fits comfortably in the back of my den/office; it separates into two 2x5 sections for portability and storage. I used Ninco electrics for it so I can change
directions with the flip of a switch.

Very cool track and scenery, lots of action in a very compact space. Gotta get moving and get my track finished.

Looks really good. I admire the work you put into the desert scenery - a minimalist approach. That's really well done, especially for the space you have.
Is it a shared space or are you at home?
The palm trees are a good touch. Might I suggest a roadrunner? Ah - not the car, the bird, but the car too. The bird might make some good wildlife scenery. Good videography skills too. |

Hey Bill,
Beautiful piece of work, as always. Scaleyfreak, I agree, yet it actually takes a lot of work to make a minimalist approach look that good. \Back to Bill... a question: When pouring Envirotex, have you ever had to use the propane torch to eliminate bubbles?... and if so, was it lit, or just shooting gas?

slider2 wrote: You can use a propane torch, or just breathe heavy on it. The CO2 from your breath eliminates the bubbles, which is the way that I did it. And, Scaleyfreak, great idea for the roadrunner, but where do you find one that's to scale and not too cartoonish? And, no, it's not a shared
space, but my home office (which is smallish, perhaps 10x10, but fits the track nicely).

You do excellent work. There are folks with limited space that should take a close look at this type of layout.

Bill, you do magic!!!! That is fantastic.... So that's why we took the Carrera track out.....and it has a drag strip too.... You crafty devil you.....
Anyone can restore a classic car, but it takes a real Hotrodder to cut one up and make it cool!
