ATTENTION SLOT FAITHFUL
I you're faithful Minion have come up with an idea to bring some fun and a little $ to the support
fees for our HOME!!! This was run by and approved by the Boss himself Harry the Wise!!!
I am starting what will be (hopefully) at least a bi-monthly raffle for our members. Here's my thoughts that
I ran pass Harry, Shawn and a couple of other memebers.
At the beginning of the month I would post the HRW Raffle Post stickied at the top of the 1/32 Forum.
It could be a car, controller, parts, scenery items, etc. I want to cover the whole gambit and I want to
cover all scales at some point. 1/32 is the bread and butter of the forum, but the raffle items will go into
other scales too.
After the post is put up...those of you wanting to get in on the raffle need to send $2.00 via Paypal or if
we have those who don't do Paypal...I guess you could mail it to me. (I could give you the address via PM
or email) If this takes off good...then the non-Paypal memebers could pay in advance for the raffles via mail
at one time. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Why $2.00? Honestly, to offset the cost of raffle items and to raise $ to help contribute to the fees of the site.
I know a lot of you already do this and it's greatly appreciated!!! This gives a little added incentive for others
to do the same and have a chance of getting something in return worth a heck of a lot more than $2.00.
HOW'S IT GOING TO WORK?
Example: 100 Members pay the $2.00
That's $200.00 minus Paypal fees.
Let's say we're left with $170.00
We take $50 from that to fund the next raffle item(s) (This could be more down the road for multi-scale drawings)
The other $120 goes to the site fees.
So, it's basically a self-supported raffle. However, some months there may be additional DONATED items to be raffled the same month.
Like the this month's raffle. I'm donating the car to get this idea a rolling.
Also, in reference to multi-scale related drawings. If one month we're raffling a 1/32 and an HO car...you can make a note with your payment
as to which drawing you want to be placed into. This keeps a strictly HO guy or gal from getting stuck with a 1/32 car.
I thought it was a good idea and the feedback I got was positive. So, I'm giving it a shot. This first raffle should dictate whether this idea
will continue forward.
