Hi All:
My new Carrera D132 Nascar set would not run counter-clockwise without loss of lane changing. The non-functioning procedure was:
1. Flip the polarity DIP on the cars to reverse polarity. (As per the Carrera manual.)
2. Fire up the D132 system and wait the few seconds for it to be in D132 mode.
3. Make sure the lane changers were reversed so the infa-red sensor locations matched the infa-red sensor location on the cars.
The cars ran counter-clockwise, but there is no lane change function.
I found that I COULD run counter-clockwise with lane changing IF I placed the connecting track section with the D132 box/etc to the INSIDE of the oval. No way that would be satisfactory.
SOOOO.... I popped the hood on the connecting track to have a "look see". WARNING: DOING THIS MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!!
However, seeing as I'm a slothead tinkerer from way back when... I figured "big deal" on the warranty: I don't want to race US oval racing BACKWARDS!
What I found is that (thankfully) Carrera used spring tension "blades" inserted into the underside of the U channel rails for power delivery. It was absolutely NO PROBLEM to pop the red/black connections out and reverse them. Within 3 minutes the job was done.
Result?
My D132 set now runs counter-clockwise with all D132 functions.
Life is good.
