This car was campaigned by driver Don Dame at our local track back in 70-71. I used a stock Pro-Track chassis with a AMT 1969 Torino Cobra Modified Stocker
kit. The paint scheme and decals are correct for the car, and i also added a bit of weathering to get a raced look. Thanks for looking!!

That's a great effort, nice looking car! Was your home track Checker Flag Speedway and is the Merrifield Transport Special related to Bob Merrifield?
Wow I went searching and found this great website on Checker Flag Speedway. I even found a pic of the car you just modeled. Checker Flag Speedway Great Stuff!!!

Olskoolslotz your are right on both counts. The track was Checker Flag Speedway, and the owner of merrifield transport was Bob's uncle i believe. My next
project will also be from that track but a little farther back in the past to 1965. I am going to see if i can build an old coupe that was run by Jack
"Speedy" Monahan.

Wow nice stuff! I started going to Mt. Clemens Race Track in 1978 and would see Biederman, Hanley, Lemay, Mallat and Monoghan all run there pretty regularly
until the tracks demise in 1985.

Ah, the good ol' days...
2 guys under a racecar supported only by jacks, no stands...and on the pumpkin to boot!!! Try that nowadays and see what you get for a fine...

Thanks klokman I had just found that site, man I love this stuff!!! I found an pic of Don Bray there, we built our sportsman car in Don's garage and bought
his last late model from him. He was my mentor for a few years and taught us a lot - Great Guy!
