Here is a draft of my May-hem 2008. Please make comments so I can finalize them by the end of this week. I will respond mostly in the evenings.
Old Orchard Ridge May-hem 2008
Dates: 5/23/07 - 5/25/07 (Postings will be made late night Eastern Standard Time.
Rules:
Practice: Each car will be on the track for 10 practice laps prior to each heat on each lane.
Races: Each car will run (1) 25 lap heat on each of two lanes. The best 20 lap times of each 25 lap heat will be averaged, then the average times of the two heats will be averaged, this average will be your race score. Lowest score wins. In the event of a tie the car with the fastest lap time will be the winner. If fastest lap times are the same the next two fastest lap times will determine the winner, and so on. If all lap times are identical I will choose a winner.
Participants may enter one car.
This is a Limited Modified Event to be run at 10 volts with 3 Amps current available.
1- Any approximately 1/43rd body (Modified as desired). However this is a Modified Mayhem, and there will be a concours of which I will be the sole judge.
2- Any chassis
3- Any motor However I will be running this race at 10 volts and my power supply's current rating is 3 Amps. If your motor is tripping my power supply excessively, your car will be disqualified. I have no problem running the following motors: Artin, Greenies from SCW, Goldmine G9330, and the Radio Shack XMODS motors.
4- Any wheels
5- Any tires
6- Minimum total car weight 1.25 Oz.
7- Magnet must be stock Artin One full size magnet )16x18x2 mm) or two of the half magnets (16x12x2 mm) are allowed, placed where you feel is best for your car. (no antigravity magnets allowed) 8- Lube oil and grease may be used anywhere inside the car.
9- Nothing may be used/applied to the rear tire contact surface.
10- Body must cover entire chassis assembly excluding the wheels when looking straight down from above the car. It is ok for your wheels/tires to stick out.
11- Cars must have at least 1 number, anywhere visible from the outside of the car.
12- All tires must touch the track.
13- Chassis clearance - No part of the car shall touch the track or rails except the braids and tires.
14- Maximum Rear and front Width (measured from outside of tires or outside of body whichever is larger): 54 mm (2 1/8 inches).
15- No braid juice or other conductive grease or liquid may be used on the braids.

18- Any guide (ONLY ONE GUIDE ALLOWED) (My track is Artin and the slot is not as deep as Carrera Go!!!. Also unmodified Carrer Go!!! guide pins will wedge in my slot if the car drifts in the turns.)
Penalization for rule violations: Disqualification (disqualified cars will be run and scored, but will not be counted in the final results.) Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and concours,
My track ir 54 ft long with 3 approximately 11 ft straights. Two of the straights go into R1 curves and 1 goes into an R2. There is an R2 1/2 circle in the infield and a couple chicane type turns. Here is a picture.
