I personally like the Ninco Pro-Race braids. They come in a roll and are very "soft" but durable. I usually get them from Brian At BRS Hobbies.
GOOD LUCK AND GOOD RACING!!!

Solder wick. Cheap. Radio Shack or another electronics store should carry it in bulk. Lays very nice and flat.

The Slot.it race braid is good but has a short life. The NSR race braid is better, and supple.
But the nicest stuff is the NINCO pro-race braid as mentioned before. it can be cut to size, which I think is a nice advantage for it. Bob |

Ditto on the solder wick.
I find the Radio Shack brand a little on the cheap/weak side. I go to my local electronic supply store and they have some wider (2.5mm) stronger stuff. I fold it up 2, 3 & even 4 ply depending on the car and guide.
When it's layered you can fan it out and make some really effective "Groucho Marx" looking braids. A ten foot roll last forever. Of course we run on a wood/copper tape track and the braids seem to last for over a year or more without wearing out.

TechSpray has discontinued their wider rosinless wick. The newer "no clean" stuff has a treatment on it that is supposed to be non-corrosive, but it
also is supposed to be non-conductive when heated. But I don't know if it causes problems (obviously, hot shoe 1 hasn't had any).
I found some wide rosinless wick from SeaBraid. The braid is narrow when in the spool, which is good for installation, but it is soft and easily expandable to a wider footprint after installation. |

I have copper taped my Scaley track and I am not getting any braid wear to speak of. After a few hours of running a new car still looking just about new.
