I use Walthers GOO, it is a contact cement available at most Hobby Shops. You put just a light coat along the center off the wheel where the tyre contacts it. This holds the tyre firmly, but allows you to remove the tyre for replacement.Remember to true the wheels before you glue the tyre onto them.

Jim Beam with a little homemade Moonshine works.
Nick, if you can wait for it to dry try Testors model glue

I use 5 minute epoxy. Just mix it up and smear a little inside the opening in the wheel then press it on the axle and twist it to make sure you have good contact all the way around. If any oozes out you can just scape it away with your hobby knife. Hope this helps.

You didn't put the Jim Beam in the right place... or, you didn't use enough. Try some more and add some of that Ever-Clear to the formula. It works wonders...

I don't see anything wrong with CA adhesives, unless you want to remove something in the future.
Besides the Testors (which is good) you could try a product called either "Goop", "Plumber's Goop", or "Shoe Goo". I think it's all the same thing... kind of a one component plasticy glop, which dries tight, but flexable, and is easily removed when necessary. It's also good for securing motors to their docks & axel bearings or bushings as well. |

Try something called Hyde glue, it's used by upholsterers, and leather crafters. It has the consistancy of cold honey, and never truly hardens, but it holds like epoxy. Trust me your wheels will stay put 'till you want to take 'em off.
................BlueaxeYou only let off the gas to keep the wheels from spinning...

Loctite #626 Red works well for holding on loose wheels.

I find trying to glue wheels on is kind of frustrating sometimes. Usually they trap air, making it almost impossible to keep them on, as the air pressure forces them off. I just drill a small hole, like a #80 bit through the back of the wheel, so it relieves the pressure, and lets any excess glue out through the hole to be wiped off. Works for me any way.
