Greetings everyone, Mike here. I'm the new guy on the street, 51 years old, and getting back into the hobby after 40 some years. I used to race and collect HO (thunderjets) as a kid, but now I have moved up to 32nd as it's easier on these old eyes. I live in the Rochester New York area, and hope to meet some others close by for some racing fun. I don't have a track set up yet, but it's in the box waiting for the basement remodel later this winter. I picked up a Scalextric GT set with the two GT-40's because, as you can probably tell from my nic, I think the GT-40 is probably the sweetest looking race car ever designed. I'm also into GT-350's, Daytona Coupes and Mustangs, as well as the old school stockers from all makes. I'm not a diehard Ford guy, as I think of myself more as a car lover than a brand lover, but when it comes to racing, Ford would be my top pick. I'm learning a lot as I go, and so far there's a lot of information to be gathered here. I'm more into the history of the cars I have, as well as the personalities that made them, and not so much into blinding speed. In fact, I'll probably gear my cars down so that they run at a more scale like speed. I'll do this for two reasons. One, they will look less "toy like" going around the track, and two, survival..lol. After spending 80 dollars on a Scalextric GT-40 of Dan Gurney's #3 car, the last thing I want to do is put it into the wall from a curve taken to fast.

I am also into Pre-WW2 aircraft modeling, and participate at a couple of forums related to that, and am blessed with a great wife who humors the big kid she married.
