Track will accomodate 1/32 home set and all commercial 1/32 and 1/24 cars on 4 1/4 inch lane centers and 6 inch outside aprons. Pictures to be posted or available by email soon. Looking for club racers fall 2007.

Posts: 43 (10/17/07 03:08 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Dirt Slot Car - Here's a photo of my track, its a road course built like a commercial track but with magnetic paint surface to accomodate the newer magnet cars in addition to non magnet 1/32 and 1/24 cars. Will probably race a 1/32 scale car and a 1/24 car each race night with body style changing every 3 or 4 race nights. Personally, I'm most interested scratch building cars so that any type of car can be included in the program. Will also encourage "field trips" as a group to commercial tracks in Chicago and others that I know of in Iowa and Illinois, Club is still in the formative stages - once I have a list of possible racers I'll try to find a night to get together and decide on an initial type of cars to race. Your handle is a dead giveaway - are you interested in Modifieds, Late Models and Sprint Cars?

I am not too swift at the message forums stuff. I am in Freeport IL about a hour and twenty minutes east of Dubuque. Just took down my large carerra two lane layout preparing to finish up a three lane routed road course. Track is 3.5" spacing, surface is painted in plastidip. Entire layout was done using a flexible strip, mild banking, no squeezes, generous curbing, one overpass. I have not calculated total running length yet, estimate that is is 80-90 feet. layout is 8.5' by 26.5'. My interest is really in getting good looking scale cars, 1/24th, 1/32nd that run well. I have had a blast with my RTR 1/32nd cars. I have a couple of TSRF chassis running, no bodies. I have a Protrack 1/24th chassis complete no body yet. Just another old guy that wants cars that race realistically and predictably but also look good. I have some parma flexi's that I have run down at penrose raceway in Sterling. Larry Reaver the owner is one super nice guy. Mostly it has been just me and my four year old having a blast together.
