It's been a while since I posted here, but always lurking. I sold my old track, and I've started a new SSD track inspired by the Targa Florio. Still in progress, but here are some pictures.

Thanks for the kind words. A little more about the track. It's a 12'x6' SSD layout and about 65ft long. I constructed it on three 4x6 tables that can be taken apart to work on the middle parts of the scenery. It will also make it convenient when I try to sell the track. (Well, I'll race on it a bit before I sell it, but 1/2 the fun is in the building so when I'm done building, then I'll be looking to start all over again.) Most of the construction is built from layers of styrofoam, which is more than sturdy enough to support the weight of the (very heavy) plastic track. Here and there, other techniques are used. In this photo you see two of the tables separated to facilitate the work.
 And, the two tables put back together and going down the switchbacks into the village.

That is just too cool. Space is well utilized as well with plenty of action packed racing. Excellent work on the scenery.

Some of the elevations of the track are evident in the below photo of the far left side of the track. This is the end of the long straight, which in the Targa Florio, is along the ocean front. To be sure, this is my own interpretation, which includes a small dock. There is lots more work to do here, but it gives some further impression of the track.
