Well, you did it anyway, much too severe, and already the forum has less character. Moving things that were inappropriate to the forum (for sale items-this has gotten out of hand-, unrelated chitchat-maybe, but not an important thing to get done at all-, and other categories), could be a defensable change, but this has sterilized the 1/32 forum, and I am not afraid to say so. Not only that, but people are confused about how much personal interaction is allowed, so there is less new interaction being put on the site. The excuse that this saves money is meaningless, since the contributions that keep the site going are from us- the people who had this imposed on us. Where was the appeal for more money that should have preceded such a severe change being imposed on us? Why was the change so severe? What is the real reason for this change? As others come to see what I see, I suggest that they speak out before this mistake becomes imposed as permanent. Please be ready to straighten this out and bring personalism back. Nothing human is ever really set in stone except vanity and greed. Anytime someone tells you something human can't be reversed, you have to ask which one of these categories it fits into.

I don't have a problem with it but thats my opinion. I belong to a few other car sites that separate off topics chatter from the rest of the board section. It seems to work for them. Give it a chance to see how it plays out. I'm sure Harry and the boys will correct it if it doesn't work out.

IF you're not sure how much you can say...
just say it, its not the end of the world. If its too much they can move it, if not fine, either way I just wouldnt worry about it. Frosty

See my reply in the above post.
But no problem...say what you will. We both have the right to disagree. Meanwhile, I am going to get back to having fun with our hobby. And this thread will be moved and the other thread locked.

The for sale or trade section was way out of control with 20 pages of stuff that had been sold or traded long ago.
I see nothing wrong with cutting it back to 9 pages and getting rid of all the old and out dated stuff. Give the new bench racers lounge some time, I'm sure it will work out just fine, as for removing posts or locking them down that is Harry's right to do so, its his responsibly to keep the board clean and enjoyable for all, I have been guilty of getting out of hand from time to time and my posts have been deleted or locked down, was I upset, yes But after a day or two I realized that I was wrong. I don't even know how many e mails I have sent to Harry apologizing for posting something negative or stupid. I'm still on the board, Harry could have kicked me off long ago. This board is were I go for fun and to learn more about this hobby, I enjoy a lot of the OT remarks and don't see that changing very much, we just have a place for it now. I say Good Job Harry and Thank You . Pete |

I personnally like that there is a place for the OT stuff now...
What I really like is now the stuff that's posted in 1/32 that PERTAINS to 1/32 doesn't get buried by all the OT posts... Way, don't take this personal, but you really should give it time to see how it plays out...

Way to put the hammer down, I say it`s a good thing. Keep the scratchers in the scratch board..the for sale in the sale board and so on......... I`ve been guilty of posting in the 1/32 board when it should have been elsewhere.
I also see it as a positive as the other boards will see some equal time. BTW can we curse in here? |

Harry,
I, for one, think it's cool. It may be a warm beach or a hot one of the other to moderate, but my feeling is that it will work. It will take a lot of the slop out of the gears in the 1/32 threads. Frankly, I only run 1/32, myself... but this is not a 1/32 only site. This would be a good place to mingle... all scales & all tastes... kind of like a "Company Picnic" And for Rob: I found you here & I'm generally speaking, toadally cornpuker delitteriate. It ain't that bad. Think free, be happy |

I honestly can't believe that somebody would make such a big deal out of this. I for one would prefer not to have to look through the O/T posts to get to the stuff I want to see. Was it that big a deal to me? No... but I prefer it this way. I have been on a LOT of other forums with O/T areas and it worked very well. So please give it a chance before you get your panties in a bunch. We don't need this kind of negetivity... it just makes it feel like another forum that is mentioned here from time to time. And if Harry decided to lock this thread then so be it... he has every right to... it's his site.

I'm a little confused as to why this would be an issue if it's off topic it goes here if it's slot related it goes in the appropriate place ( scratchbuilding, 1/32 etc). Did I miss something?
