Now that the SCK II is well underway, we should get another proxy in motion. Any ideas?

I'd be up for a truck race...or maybe a 60's/70's vintage stock car proxy...

I would really be up for a truck race! Anybody gonna volunteer to host such a thing? Actually I would be up for any new proxy, as I think I am learning a little more about setting up the chassis for racing. And 7 more months of 19th and 20th is a little depressing

Ovals only? I'll host one!

Trucks on ovals only? Knocks me out of hosting.
I think we should limit the amount of extra magnet to bring in a little more handling and building skill. Will this be a series or a single? I'll get that truck vac'd ASAP. For an Artin chassis it will take a Judge extender or a chassis stretch. The new SCX NASCARS chassis is about 1/8" to short. |

I've got a '52 GMC, a '41 Plymouth, and of course the Rotella T #50 Ford for available pickups. We could vac form a few Artin Stocker pickups to at least reduce the body weight and make chassis mounting easier.
We could set the magnetic pull force allowed to X number of grams (somewhere slightly stronger than a stock mag with stock wheels and tires) - or - to make it easy the magnetic force can not be strong enough to hold and maintain a standard Artin two lane straight track when the car is lifted from the piece of track. I get my building skill from Bubba Joe's Head Shop. |

I was gonna ask how to measure the magnetic force, but the one piece of Artin track sounds like an universal way everyone could manage, except maybe Cjent.

I like the idea of being able to use the older pick-up bodies!
I guess I was assuming it had to be a modern truck series body. Vac forming the Artin truck bodies is a good idea too because people without a lot of conversion experience under their belt (me) could use a body that didn't require wheel base mods. ![]() |
