I hope to have one adjustable chassis that will fit either of the GM motors.

Is there interest in something like these? It will require a cash outlay so I can't just have one or two made.

Chassis Anyone? |

Since Judge has all but disappeared we have lost our source for custom chassis. With this in mind I designed the following. There's more finishing dimensional work to be completed but the design is pretty much done.

It's pretty much a slick design. The fact it's adjustable will attract a lot of buyers. Great product concept again from Ranch Design.

The design looks really great Lib! Very intuitive! I like the SCX chassis's alot but one of my "issues" with it is that it's often too wide to tuck the wheels under the fender wells of a lot of scale 1/43 bodies. Hopefully your chassis design is narrow like that of an Artin.
The adjustment method you designed looks great! Yeah, I'd very interested in something like this! The 1/32 folks have after market chassis's for kit bashing, it would be a real leap forward for the 1/43 scale in my opinion. Will they injected-molded, what type of material will they be made from? Oh yeah, I REALLY like the fact that you are including the box style can motor as a power plant option! This will really lend itself nicely to covertibles, coupes and F1 applications or sedans where you want to use an interior...i.e. low profile motor option...big Nice work, I'd be interested in helping you with cash flow just to get the first batch made! One last thought, it might be advantageous for the wheel bearings to accept 3/32 axels, this may allow us to use some of the 1/32 crown gear options and maybe something else I haven't thought of. Just a thought, needs to be pondered though, perhaps you got that all figured already! ![]() |

Any clue as to start up cost? Minimum number and cost per? I got a lot of bodies sitting around with no chasis under then and some die casts I'd love to convert. I'm liking more realistic racing so guide flag and the box type motor are definitely important. Let us know as soon as you have some clues on cost.

Wow Lib, I am impressed! Very nice looking design. I want to say yes I am ready to buy many right away, but I should complete the deal with the new K&D tires first. Any idea's when they will be shipping out?

Great looking chassis Lib. I would be in for at least a couple.
How about designing an independant front end into it? |

I would take a bundle of this almost right of the bat, say 8-10 of them.

Thanks for the replies everybody! I should have costs maybe late this week.
The chassis will be from 38 gauge aluminum and will be laser cut. The fold lines will also be cut in to ensure correct bend location and ease of bending. I was planning to make the chassis/bushings for 3/32" axles. Also needing designed are locating collars for the wheel/axle spacing. (piece of cake) |
