The Ford 3 liter is, as far as I am concerned the sexiest car ever built. Unfortunately, it pretty much sucked as a race car, as much as it pains me to say it.
One of the two cars was destroyed by a rabbit (yes, a real rabbit), that ran across the track at Nurburgring, and the other one is owned by David Piper in his
massive collection of the finest cars. The car was so fast (217mph) it was way ahead of everyone at the time, and had a drag coefficient that was close to a
paper airplane, plus it still had enough downforce to press the car down for brilliant cornering. Unfortunately, nearly all the down force turned out to be on
the front wheels, making for squirrelly, at best, handling. John Surtees refused to drive it after one try. John Surtees knew his race cars, but I still have a
soft spot for this wonderful car. I do wonder why Racer chose the paint scheme that was on the car the least amount of time. The white rim around the front
intake is the identifier. The two cars had gold around the front intake almost all the time.

Thanks Rob for the commentary. I have a model kit (Airfix) but this is better. Hopefully it is close to scale as this was not a large car.

Me too! I paid a guy in England for a virgin Airfix kit of the car, and then a year later, found it at a swap meet. So, I think I averaged my cost down to
about $7, which was what they cost originally. Ya can't win... Yeah, it was low and small. Racer is pretty good about proportion, so I bet the cars are
tiny and slippery.
