The Indianapolis 500 has used a pace car since the first race in 1911.
In 1955 a Chevrolet A Bel Air Convertible was chosen as the official Pace Car of the Indianapolis 500. T.H. Keating, a Chevrolet Division general manager drove the car. Co-driver was Indianapolis Speedway owner Tony Hulman.
The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air was Chevrolet's top of the line series and
powered by the first version of the GM small-block V-8 engine ever produced.
I built this car using this Revell Snaptite Kit.
The front seat is from a Carrera T-Bird.
The Chassis has a very simple design and was made from Styrene.

Mr. Keating and Mr. Hulman:
Self made Decals and a lot of Bare Metal were used.
the original car:
and my version.
Hope you like it.
