The choice of parts, and fit, will not please those who prefer scale accuracy and detail, but they are exactly what I wanted (and I know that's all that counts, right?)
The Strombecker Chapparal 2H, and Lotus. With the voltage lowered to 10, the rear wing works perfectly.
Naturally, it serves no functional purpose at scale speeds, but it looks pretty neat, IMO.
I always wanted one of these as a kid, but could never afford it.
The Chappy wheels are inside the body, which is as I wanted them (and I think as they were on the real car?).
The Lotus wheels are probably grossly out of proportion.
Both cars really move, and here's why.
The donors.
Both Scalextrics. The TT gear is under the Lotus, and the Escort gear is under the Chappy.
