First of all i want to thank all the people that made the event possible. The facility provided by Green Sales was more than sufficent to accomodate the biggest slot car track I've ever seen !!! :-) Thank youYeoman Family & CincySlots/Green Sales staff, SCX & Dave, Fast Lane for donating the track TYVM Ray, REH, Bullet Speedway, Kurt, Dan, Tom, Brian (best crash award winner), Pat, Meatball & everyone else that helped out and participated in this most unique and interesting slot car event !!! It was nice to meet all the fellow enthusiasts and sponsors !!!!
You are right...I was pretty satisfied thinking i'd just set a record in the stock class and then running 2nd to Tom's Monster Carrera F1 that has haunted my sleepless nights for weeks. You should see all the gadgets and gizmos he has for testing and quantifying what his cars will do... he even built a wind tunnel for this event to test the wings and ground effects. That is dedication, Congratulations in the Modified Class Tom!!! Maybe next time my modified cars will work better and i wont have to use my NSR. Biggest disappointment would definatley be not getting even one clean run with the "Daytona Limo" This was definately going to be my fastest car but between blowing gears, and blowing tires, and deslotting, the competition was over...I will post a pic of the inside of it if i can use the camera @ work tomorrow. I cant believe how much time i put into this one with no results Tom definately adjusted to plastic track more quickly than i did. I had 3 cars entered in Modified class and repairs kept me too busy to do any R&D... No need to research which motor was preferred the NSR 46k's were awesome and the runs @ 20 volts were something too see indeed. I have flown R/C Jet aircraft 150mph+ and it was amazing how much wind the cars were displacing while traveling down the track. You could hear them go by..thhhhhhwwwwwiiiIIIPP I wish we had a radar gun to verify the results a second way, but i feel very confident that multiple runs were well in excess of 100mph. I love that shot of Rod after the fast run. Man, he was having a ball, and the enthusiasm really made it a good time.
That's Bruce's Cartrix Lotus buried in the track wiring. Great shot! Hey Bruce, are those the wheels and tires off the Monogram Tuner cars?
