Well, it's the end of the road for my beloved hobby. I've been having fun running, meeting fine folks here and at events, and doing reviews for the
past 4 yrs or so. However, due to pay cuts, car repairs, schooling cost, and everything else that could go wrong going wrong I've got to hang it all up.
Coming home to no gas or electric was the final straw that has broken this camel's back. My family is now in survival mode and there is no end in sight at
this point. Plus, after seeing my 8 yr daughter (God bless her) realizing that things were bad yesterday... set up a folding table from her room, making some
instant lemonade and setting up on the sidewalk to "help her Mom & Dad"...well, I think you know what ran down my face.
I want to thank Shawn (sjslots) for getting me into the review game, connecting with the best slot car site there is and most importantly being my friend...Harry, for his giving heart beyond what anyone would expect....Everyone who's emailed me about a review whether good or bad (I got emails from Africa, South America, Down Under and from the UK...worldwide and amazed me that someone actually cared about my 2cents)...Everyone who I've ever done a deal with....You're all great and will be missed.
I had a dream of a basement filled with 3 tracks, but couldn't even get the $ to get one up in the past year after moving into a place that had a basement for me to do it in and now might have to move to a smaller and cheaper place. I've sold 2/3 of my cars off to raise $ for the track only for the $ to go to a bill. The last sale I had was to pad the bank account after the $650 a month paycut but that all went into my car just to keep it running. I cut off cable, phone, and internet a month ago to save that $. I'm at my parent's writing this. I'm off the rest of the week bcuz I've got to make some $. The plan is a garage sale this weekend if everything goes well and hopefully getting some big ticket items sold.
So, please keep a look out in the For Sale Forum...soon I will be putting up pretty much everything I have slot related for sale. I've got enough Scaley Sport track for a very nice large 4 lane track...Ninco track w/2 dune sets, 2 loop sets, SCX hump bridge and 2 SCX super sliding curves for those into the rally side of the hobby....Cars...Controllers....Parts...older SCX track....MG Power Supply....2 SCX HRW Nascars Autographed by Harry and maybe some custom cars done by Harry, Mark of Derby City and Lee Listerstorm (torn on these cars bcuz they're special too me)..etc.
I'm hoping to get pix of everything today...have to drag it all upstairs to use the daylight since no electric and hopefully have it posted by tomorrow.
Since I'll have limited access to the site...Shawn said he'd be willing to help field questions and such.
