We are starting another new series here. We thought we would share it with you folks and see if you want to build a few of your own.

Here's my latest, slowly taking form in the cold, cold basement:
'34 Ford five-window by AMT, 1/25, powered by an SCX Pro Speed 20k motor. I think it is slower than the H&R Hawk 19k motor. Rear tires are Ortmann repro Monograms on vintage aluminum wheels (Ranalli). Fronts are H&R with Dynamic wide-fives (sort of) used as inserts. The whole wheel fits inside the H&R wheel. I used 1/16" brass cross tubes to mount the body, with steel wire pins, and bent the ends down to look like braces for the running boards/side nerfs. This thing rattles like crazy. It is a Jalopy.

that looks GREAT!!
Anyone can restore a classic car, but it takes a real Hotrodder to cut one up and make it cool!

Your choice of wheels and tires got my interest... Is it legal to cut them down for lower CG? Can you silicone coat them? Wanna run one for me by mail?

There are no rules sir. My link above is just...well, a guide on how we are gonna build them. You can do whatever you want
We are just now putting together this Proxy idea. But yeah...I'll brea...I mean race it if ya send it in "They Didn't Say You Couldn't" - Smokey Yunick

Robert that looks great! I really like the way you did the running boards and the way you wired the hood down. Jim

Thanks -- I had to wire the hood down because it is hinged with tape! At the end of the straight the car was going so "fast" it would lift up, and
block the driver's vision.
I think any motor around 18-20k, with <150 gcm torque would be fine for a proxy, but if it has a more powerful motor, it should have a plastic model of a 580HP big block. At least. |

I like the mud and the tire marks. I'm still having coffee( well beer) with mine. I've decided instead of future I'm going to shoot it with dull
coat. To give a more period correct look. Jim PS check out the "trill show" link here http://junkracer.virtualave.net/ and check out my new atavar LOL
