Well Looks like scoobe can't hold water ( LOL). Just kidding Scoobe.I had mention to Scoobe that I would like to have one. I was glad to see Scoobe have a
succesfull event and was glad that he let me share in on it. I'm thinking about something but a little leary since the last time I wanted to do a race it
seem that some thought I was trying to make a dollar off them, when actually it was to benifit to all. I slot car drag race for the love of the sport and know
that my dollars won't come from slot cars. I have been drag racing so long it's like giving something back to the 1/1 or 1/43 sport. Here at my race
way it's not even about money. I charge just enough to pay for the faclity. OK, Now that I have it clear that this is not a money making event for me
I'll breifly mention what I had in mind. I can sell enough sponsors through my 1/1 racing sponsors that I could have purse money for four classes. I could
do this with a five dollar entry fee for each car. ( this is only to return your car) This is what I had in mind.
Class 1. Stock eliminator: stock artin chassis with stock artin body or vac. Stock motor with no mods. no wheelie bars. This makes the build easier, one could run a car right out of the box. Winner gets Throphy & $40.00 Runner gets Throphy & $20.00 Class 2, Modified eliminator: stock artin chassis or modified artin chassis, Scratch built chassis ok. Stock body or vac. body. Optional gearing, any tire providing that no more than 1/8 of tire extends outside of body looking from top.of car. any motor, wheelie bars mandatory 3 inches from center of rear wheel to center of wheelie bar wheel. These cars should weigh around 50 to 60 grams to perform,( Not saying they have to but from the experiences on my type of track it's recommended.) Winner gets $50.00 & throphy Runner up gets $25.00 & throphy. Class 3. Quick Rod: This will be a break out class with a index of (1.000) seconds. any car or chassis. Both cars leave the starting line together and who ever gets there first with out going under the index wins. Say car 1 gets there first but runs a .999 and the other car 2 goes 1.091, then car 2 wins. (TIP) If you take a stock artin chassis and put a slot car world green end bell motor in; these cars will run right on the dial of (1.000). That is the set up most use here at the track. Wheelie bar recommended. The lenght is 2 inches from center of rear wheel to center of wheelie bar wheel. Winner $50.00 & throphy Runner up gets $25.00 & throphy Class 4. Quick sixteen: (Door cars) This will be a sixteen car qualified feid, I would run all entries from class 1 and 2 two qualifers. the quickest sixteen from these cars would run the quick sixteen off of a qualified ladder 1-16, 2-15, 3-14, 4-13, 5-12, 6-11, 7-10, 8-9. This class is no entry fee if one is entered in two classes. First round losers $2.50, second round losers $5.00, semi's $15.00, Runner up $50.00, Winner $100.00 All cars to use stock Artin guide pin and braid Cars to look like drag race cars You can enter no more than 2 cars in any class, this would save me some work and brain cells Best appearing award Best engineered award Well this is what I talked to Scoobe about, what do you think?

Track information | ||
|
My track is a scale 1/8 course 15'.348 ". The surface is wood. we use traction glue so the track has teeth in it. The voltage is two 900 cca cranking
12 volt batteries for class 2,3 and the quick 16. We use parma controlers but for a proxy race I would have to modify the start with a button that controlls
both lane together. Class 1 runs on 6.5 volts.

Side sells wheelie bars. You can find them on ebay sometimes. http://www.indoormotorsports.com sells them too.

I have the wheelie bars that I make on a gig. they sell for $8.00 a set either lenght. I did some testing at the track this afternoon running cars as if it
were a proxy. I edited the foremat above to leave the stock class with no wheelie bars. This way it would ease the build, this means any Artin car out of the
box would be eligible with no mods. I also edited the quick 16 class to let it be known that there would be no entry for this class as long as you were entered
in at least two classes. Aso posted round money for qualifying. If the interest is there we could have some time in April or early May.

wheelie bars are a must when you apply the power, you can run with out maybe but you would have to weigh down the car and that would kill performance. The cars we run will not even leave the starting line with out them. You can make the bar easily from brass tubing or piano wire. I like the piano wire for the stiffness. You use the wheels from the little skate board toys from walmart.They are small and look in proportion to the car.

Ok, class 1, are we allowed to true the tires? Are we allowed to use the artin stock replacement tires from ranch design? I have a couple sets of stock artin
slicks from artin, are these tires allowed for class 1?
|
|||
fastside |
|||

Class 1 is stock as it comes from Artin, Modified tires or aftermarket fit cass 2. Are you talking about the slicks that come on the Indy cars? They are stock
Artin but kill the cars bottom end.
