However, Nick brought some Carrera hot rods. I had one so we had at it. He mentioned he only needs 2 more to complete the series and he plans on doing just that. How many of you find yourself doing the same? I did it with the Fly Capri and Lancia, but after a year or 2 I stopped and moved on...The General had a thing for the Marcos for awhile and then she did the same. 10 years ago it was easy to keep up...but now? Luckily, there's on 3...hope for a 4th. I want all the Carrera Torinos...need 2 still #98 and #17. I need the SCX vintage McLaren to go with the BRM and Tyrrell. Then if I want a 4th I'll have to repaint like you did...thought there's a YELLOW mexican made Tyrrell on eBay. However, out of my price range. Since I'm about to get started on the 4 laner here....I'm looking at 4 of the same or similar cars more than "all". I can't afford all...even though I may want them. I've got my own Department Store

I've only been at it a little over a year and a 1/2...I do have a lot I started and left but could restart at anytime or I'm just adding one or 2 at a time that could lead to obsessions(oops I mean collections) All the Carrera NASCARs including the COTs (no pic of them though) I'll have to do that. All the Carrera SS396 Camaros All the Scalextric A1 Grand Prix cars All but 1 of the Fly Corvettes( #flyA1, $2200 on EBAY when it's available) Missing from the picture are the 3 in collector cases. I have other "Mini" collections where there are only 3-5 cars in them ex: Ninco 997 Porsches, Ascaris and Moslers, Revell/Monogram March 83Gs and I'm working on the Scaley TAs My Slot Car Site Last Edited By: MGS 75thMEU 07/06/08 04:31 PM. Sheesh...I don't where to start I try not to be too compulsive, and thus discipline myself not to go after every single livery of my favourite cars just for the sake of having a complete collection, but rather stick to the ones that I really like. With so many liveries around, there are bound to be several that are less appealing. The older I get the less sense it makes to just pile up things on selves. Why buy things that you don´t really want anyway, just to keep up with what a manufacturer chooses to produce? Nah, life´s too short - get the toys you really want, and play with them!

Couldn't afford to stay in the hobby if I did that Also, I've never really seen the point in having so many of one type of car. I absolutely love the look of Fly classics and I wouldn't mind having one of each of 'em. However, 10 Coda Lungas or 10 908/3s?, nah. There are just too many good looking model cars out there Having said all that, I think the most I have of one model is my Cheetahs. 2 cox, 1 strombecker and custom Cro-Sal from a Resin kit. These are certainly good times for our little hobby in terms of variety! QC

Have all of the real livery Scaley IRL's for example, but time to time I break the mold and sell off a couple here and there. I was trying to collect all of the FLY Porsche 934's but like others have said it is time and cash sensitive and sometimes I look at the stacks of matching cars and think 'Why am I doing that?'. I have each of the Carrera Ferrari 575 GT's and the 512 BB's, and the Porsche GT3's, all the Slot.It's except the two car 312 set and I think one of the 312 kits, all the Ninco club cars, and I've been shooting for the Fly Porsche 917's for quite a while. Doubt that will ever happen. It's fun to do for a while, keeps the collection moving, etc. I don't care if it's complete, I just like collecting one type of car. I'm not gonna run around paying stupid prices because there's an elusive car that I don't happen to have. I'll tell ya...fellas......you're gonna want more cowbell! Rock legend Bruce Dickinson

If we like the car, we buy it and race it. Sometimes we will buy two of the same model to race against each other. We have no shelf queens. So far the Willys coupe series is the only one Nick is striving to get a complete set of. We would love to get just about every slot car release that comes out, but this guy "Bill" keeps sending us these "U OWE ME" letters... You Can never have too many slot cars!!!

Tried to do the Jag XK120's and 356 Porsches, but I haven't been able to justify the cost for shelf cars. Also have all the Scally Trans am Mustangs. The Jag D-type was the only one I really tried to do, but they were cheap compaired to Ninco Classics. Anyone can restore a classic car, but it takes a real Hotrodder to cut one up and make it cool!

I can paint my own) and 1 high tail (blue one). I go on 'kicks' right now I'm jonesing for Fly GT40's, but that will pass and I'll be on the next thing. I also have all four of the vintage SCX f1 cars. AS hotrodBob stated I can't justify the price of the Ninco classics, but I think I do have about 20 with a couple of those being custom paint jobs of 356's.
