JK ALUMINUM FRONT WHEELS/TIRES BEAD-LOCK ON RIGHT FRONT.
3MM STAINLESS STEEL HOLLOW FRONT AXLE WITH JUST A HINT OF PLAY.
CAR HAS A NICE STANCE ; ALL 4 TIRES SIT DOWN FLAT & SQUARE ON THE SETUP BLOCK. ONLY WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION ADJUSTMENTS ARE NECESSARY FOR FULL POTENTIAL.
PRO-TRACK "DAYTONA" LEFT REAR ALUMINUM RIM.
PRO-TRACK RIGHT REAR ALUMINUM RIM WITH WHEEL INSERT & BEAD-LOCK (I ALSO ADDED "GOODYEAR" ON THIS TIRE.) 2.2MM OF TIRE STAGGER FROM LEFT REAR TO RIGHT REAR HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED DURING CHASSIS CONSTRUCTION TO AID HANDLING.
SPEEDWAY AIRFLOW ENTERPRISES INC. WINGS ARE EASILY REMOVED IF YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE A SILVER CROWN CAR. FOR OPTIMUM HANDLING
RESULTS THE TOP WING SOULD BE MADE OF LEXAN OR SOMETHING LIGHTER.
THE CHASSIS: GREAT CARE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO MINIMIZE THE AMOUNT OF PIECES NECESSARY TO RECREATE THE 1/24 SCALE PLASTIC MODEL THAT
I "DUPLICATED". THIS CAR WAS CREATED USING THE T.L.A.R. METHOD, WHICH IS : (T)HAT (L)OOKS (A)BOUT (R)IGHT :-) 90% OF
THE TUBING USED WAS 1MM STAINLESS STEEL TUBING. THE WING BRACES & SLIDER BAR STRUT RE-INFORCEMENT ARE .5MM HIGH TEST FISHING LINE.
THE MAIN PIECES OF THE CHASSIS HAVE BEEN SILVER SOLDERED TOGETHER WITH MANY OF THE ACCESSORIES BEING EITHER SOLDERED ON WITH A LOWER TEMP SOLDER OR CA
GLUE.
THE FRONT NERF BAR IS S/S AND SOLDERED ON.
THE FRONT AXLE IS SUSPENDED BY THE FRONT PORTION OF A PARMA WOMP CHASSIS.
THE REAR AXLE CARRIER UTILIZES BRASS BUSHINGS AND IS FROM THE DRAG SHOP IN MIDDLETOWN, OHIO. HTTP://RACEWAYALLEY.COM
ALL PAINT AND DECAL BODY WORK WAS DONE BY TONY JONES OF CALIFORNIA.
TOTAL WEIGHT WHEN WEIGHED FRIDAY WAS 123.6 GRAMS WITH VERY LITTLE WEIGHT BEING ADDED SINCE THEN.
PROBABLY WOULD WEIGH AROUND 110 GRAMS WITH WINGS REMOVED.

This chassis utilizes a Cheetah placed where the engine block would be in a real car.

steel tubing...Virtually everything seen here is metal, torsion bars are brass and arms brass frt.steel rear, shocks are stainless steel tubing...
The Doug Wolfgang Weikert's #29 has a cheetah motor in the proper location with a custon made driveshaft that rides on a single ball bearing...Well over 60
Hours into this one already. Plug wires, steel braid hose, Ball Bearing supported guide-flag, If the sun ever comes out so i can get good pix, I will post
more of it with all the goodies/decals on it.
So does anyone race sprint cars that aren't the sprints plus 1/28 scale chassis? It would be cool to build enough of these to make a series just to see it
