Track Scenery: Homemade Motorized Windmill |
Lead | |
|
This two will find their place in my track anytime soon. It's battery powered (1.5V). The motor is a 6V (not Artin). A potentiometer is added to control
the speed of the blades but still spins a bit fast. I a slower motor when they became available will be a nice for this windmill. Enjoy viewing the pictures
and video will be post soon.

Those are really cool! I've got some lower rpm motors that I'd donate to the cause if you'd like!

I tried the various step down combinations but finally got an old rotisserie motor for my revolving Dollar General KFC bucket. The pole is a square balsa
dowel.
These shots date back to the beginning of the track in the summer of '06. Maybe someone can build a functional wind generator to produce 12 V DC. I had a parent build me a fuel cell purportedly for my Earth Science class at another school. It produced 12 V but the other school misplaced the device. It didn't utilize electrolysis, so I would need to buy tanks of H2 and O2. Nerf

Martin, you're approaching this from the wrong angle. You shouldn't be powering your windmills from your power supply. The windmills should be your
power supply. Think Green
