Has anyone ever tried a enamel clear over waterslide decals? I usually use Future or Tamiya acrylic but wanted to get a deeper shine. Just curious if it will
eat the decals or if it should be safe. Thanks

I've tried it and it will ruin the decal sheet! I've used Testors Lacquer Glosscote with great results but the enamel clear will cause the decal sheet
to 'crinkle'.

9carfan is correct, many great paint jobs have been ruined by Clearcoat

I hate to disagree, but, a lot of times, on older decals, I have found it necessary to give the decals several coats of clear to hold them together. This, of
course, must be done in light coats. After a surface has been built up and all is dry, the decal must be trimmed closely. I imagine it also depends on what
brand of decals. It may well depend on the brand of clear, also. It's always best to try a test shot first. I've had good results with enamels and
laquer based clears. Acrlyics are a little tougher, being "water soluble". Everyting in moderation. Just another opinion.
