This brings up a question. If Fly is releasing these at a 50 dollar list price, what will the budget Daytona Prototypes (at 40 or 45 bucks) be like?

wait until we see what the price settles at but $49.99 SRP it is high for this quality of car, even as a starting price. JIm

O.K. I am a working UNION guy myself and I believe that I started this mess on price or value how you like to look at it. And as Gene said lets see how this
settles in the end ,on price.
I also think a working stiff should be paid well! But even with all that said, I don't think the market will even support Bruces price, and I know he is being as fair as possible, he has to make a profit. In the end you can still buy a better product for less, and this is just my opinion, for those who buy this car it will give them a car they can bang around and not worry, but for my 44 bucks I still think I can do better! In the end, the market will determine price and we the buyer will determine if this line survives as is. |

You're about right on the DP cars. I'm guessing they will cost $44.99???? As for these Poly cars, you're all correct. There are much better cars out there for the price. That's why I only bought 2ea of 2 models. I wasn't totally sold either. Bruce |

. It's been my experience, working for one of the major slot car distributors 10 years ago, that Fly plays the two distributors in this country against each other. If they don't buy from him what he has to sell he will cut them off entirely or limit their access to "the good stuff". I've seen it happen. And BTW, all of these cars are being made from molds that have existed for years and the $20-$25 price point is the beginner range. I've just never associated FLY with beginner anything and if they want to compete in this arema, they have to hit the price point. Goodluck!

Everybody has good points:
1) Wait and see how the price settles in the market 2) For the retail price, there are much better values on the market 3) The working stiff in Spain must be compensated fairly When #3 makes it impossible to deliver a product that will be competitive in the market, management needs to decide to not make the product. Otherwise, the company will just take a bath on it. Does anybody know how the retail price of these cars stacks up against other retail prices in Europe?
