Hopefully Elsecundo will chime in, he's our resident expert in our local club and has both of these cars in several variations. He's also done
extensive testing with both. I'm sure he'll lead you in the right direction.

997 for me | ||

Sans magnet, it's not even close for me. The 997 is a much easier car to drive quickly. It's handling characteristics are far more "user
friendly" than the McLaren. The McLaren can be driven quickly but it will take some practice and a bit more tuning to take out some of it's inherent
"twitchiness".
Just my 2 cents. Your mileage may vary.... QC

The Porsche 997 has an angle winder motor configuration which allows the magnet pocket to be closer to the rear axle. The McLaren F1 is an older car that has
an inline motor configuration and the magnet pocket is in a more forward position than the 997.
Magnet racing - the Porsche 997 should beat the McLaren F1 on most if not all tracks. No magnet racing - the cars will be closer but I still give the nod to the Porsche 997. Best regards, Brian

Magnet placement wise this image of the McLaren F1 GTR LACK next to the anglewinder set up of an NSX should illustrate the difference between the designs:
Lining up the wheelbase you can see how much more forward the McLaren magnet sits in the chassis. And to jump on the bandwagon I would go 997 as well.

I've got nothing to add, the other guys nailed it, right down to the McLaren's twitchiness.

The Mosler, Ascari & Supra are also very fast and will compete with and can and will oftentimes beat a 997.
All things being equal. The Mosler and Ascari are top of the heap in my book. These are all great cars for racing. QC

My moneys on the Mosler, though as QC and others have said, Ninco (anglewinders) are all quite capable.

Between the Mosler, Ascari, Supra and the 997, I would have to say to purchase the one with the body which tickles your fancy! I would also have to advise
(now, this is just me) to forget about the Mclaren. I wouldn't buy another, Ninco version of that car (If we're talking about the same car) is not
nearly as good, in relation to power & handeling, as the Slot.it version. And to the best of my knowledge, the Slot.it car costs about 20 or so percent
less.

The recently released Ninco Lamborghini should also perform very good against the other Ninco anglewinder slot cars. I agree with Greg, I would get the car
with the body style that you like the best.
