Who bought one of these and how does it do on plastic track?

The motor is great if geared properly. It has plenty of torque so 2.6:1 or less is ok by me.
The tires OK, but SlotIts fit. I put NSR rims on the rear. The chassis is interesting but over engineered. The plastic pod has a funny plastic and broke the first week because the motor screws were screwed in too tight? I hot glued the motor in and it works fine. Gears - very good. Sides of the pod need shaved so the pod can rotate if you want it to. Mirrors break off easily so you may as wel take 'em off. Revracer had a bad crown gear (?) I believe. Rear wing has not broken yet. Overall it has good potential.

Revracer had a bad crown gear (?) I believe.Hello Dan & Shawn, It was a bad pinion not crown, unbelieveable as it sounds. The teeth just sheared right off. I replaced it with a slot.it pjnion and have had no problems since. Yes the wing is quite delicate so are the mirrors, just part of the package I guess. I bought the car (Peugeot) to race and so I didn't expect these body pieces to last very long anyway, the pinion though was very unexpected and hope an isolated event. I'm thinking about picking up one of the Pescarolo's this time around, these Avant Slot's are wicked fast. Live Long & Prosper, David. |

It is the car I will probably race next week at Fastlane in the no mag LMP open class.
So Revracer lost a pinion and I a pod. Both freak things? I don't know but time will tell.

Well, they certainly look nice. A lot better than the new Fly Poly Play School cars.
The thing about sheared off teeth on the pinion really surprises me though.

Ran a Pesca for some time with the front stub axles, etc. that had been highly worked on and made to be reliable. . They're fast, easy to run, and
incredibly consistent. A great enduro car or for someone new to non-mag racing. *If* it will run and not break down.
Ran 7.02ish second laps over, and over, and over. Very, consistent. The problem is my Moslers will run sub 7 second laps by a fair margin. So will a Spirit Dallara my friend has. So will my Slot.it 312PB's. My thoughts- Better than the Fly Evo2, SCX racing Audi (I need to develop this car more than I have), Spirit Racing Reynard, and Scaleauto Toyota. Not quite the snuff for NSR and the Dallara. Bob |
