Since I first saw Dave's transporter I knew I wanted one as a slot car. Here is my progess thus far. With trusty saw in hand I destroyed a perfectly good Fly race truck chassis...
Here is the stock chassis before my handy work began. I thought the side ribs would be a great way to keep the chassis in line.
Once ya cut 'em there is no turning back. I took a wedge piece just behind the tires to clear the body and then cut the chassis in half using
the same point on on both sides to keep the cut as straight as I can...Good nuff 4 me...
1/4" styrene square tubing cut to fit. The chassis has to be stretched 1 1/2".
If two are good, 4 must be better so I glued in 4 tubes for strength.

Some flat styrene was cut to fill the opening and glued to the square tubes and the chassis. This should be a pretty strong platform for the
transporter.
Test fit and it looks pretty good. The interior will serve as the front mount to the stock points of the chassis. I'll figure the rear out next.
