Thinking of, and actually doing can be desperate activity, versus action states. Often thought such would be a cool idea, many others use raffles to support stuff from ... well lots of things. The people here sure promote the hobby - I recently built a 3-lane routed track, based mostly on help/tips from this site, so I'm happy to give a little back - and if I win something, it's a bonus... The vendors are very generous to help out - and to be honest, some of these prizes I might normally overlook when purchasing slot stuff - as in my case, I just don't have any experience in scratch building - yet! However, with this, you can put a few bucks in and if you luck out, you get a chance to try something you might never have tried on your own - and that's very cool!! And it's great marketing for the vendors, as they may gain a new customer - I Love the Cougar and Merc - too cool!! I'd love to see this continue to grow - once there are some funds built up(and the vendors are paid for items) - and maybe offering up some rarer slots in the future that again, maybe you wouldn't normally consider buying on your own. Could you imagine? - put in a few bucks for a chance at a limited edition such as a Cartrix Classic F1, Fly Lola T70 Chequered Flag or something you either missed when they were reasonably priced or could never justify purchasing on your own(insert early Slot.it here)? That would be awesome!

I donated the Slot It and that was the only prize I expected to have for the raffle. The take $50 from the procedes to buy something for the next raffle and the rest to the site. They approached me with the items. They're not being paid!!!! They don't pay us to have their logo or link to their site!!! That's how Harry likes it and why anyone can start a business related to our hobby and get some much needed FREE advertising here on HRW. They are giving back and it's great!!!! Thanks again to those vendors that have stepped up. July Jiada is donating a track set. Luf (routed track guru) is donating one of his routing kits and video. Super Tires is sending some stuff to me too. Plus, the vendors for May are continuing in July. So, we'll have even more great prizes in July. I think I'm going to buy an H&R 1/24 chassis too and maybe an HO or 1/43 car for get other scales involved. Some have asked, "What happened to June?" I can't do this every month folks. The time involved...bi-monthly I'll keep my sanity. So, we're looking at May, July, Sept, Nov and I'd like to have a special Dec/Holiday Raffle. However, we'll see...first let's get past May and July!!!! I've got my own Department Store
