Thanks for all the kind words
if you think the plaster cloth is easy you should try the foam board I'm doing a mix just because of how I laid the track out and I all ready bought a ton of the plaster cloth a few things I piked up if you are doing plaster put black paint in the water this way the color will be a gray and not WHITE that will stand out also with the plaster cloth I put it on dry on one place that I could not reach and then sprayed it with black wash and pushed it onto the wads of paper I let it set and did it again the hole rolling hill part under the grass was done like that and at the end I brushed on some plaster in a light mix of black wash (black wash is water and paint , never use the plaster with out adding color unless you wanted it white because the white pin holes are very hard to hide Rick

Nice job rick. You missed it at buds last night, I think we ended up with 28 racers, with 4 heats, and 10 pies. Mike is going to post pictures later on

Thanks I wanted to go to Bud's but My back and legs were killing me from the track work and you no that I start out about 1/2 dead but with the nice weather coming I'll be coming around and I'll wear my tank top to take the heat off you (hehe) the main thing about the scenery stuff is your colors, 99% is flat or mat, I bought 2 books and they tell with photos and big text I can read a little so it weren't too hard and it takes your track from a kids toy on plywood ,to looking real thanks for checking it out I wish you all could stop over and check it out first hand

everyone
thank you for all your kind words, all I can say is how easy it is to do this scenery work, the foam is just glue, shape, paint, grass and RACE the plaster stuff from woodland scenes is almost as easy But it is more for the rolling hills look wade up news paper, tape them, cover with plaster screen, paint, grass and RACE FamilyRacer (Brian) 1) The Scenery Manual by woodland scenics (used from amazon) 2)Scenery (for Model Railroads, Dioramas & Miniatures by Robert Schleicher and videos from you tube the first guy other guy Griff.bbcboard the paint is light gray primer I used the Wall Mart brand .97 cent a can I did the a big peace at a time, the only thining I should have done at that time was to paint the slots for the lane colors when I had the rails taped off, I was using auto pin striping for the lane markings but it didn't stick good the the primer Check out the videos on youtube the work on there scenery is off the hook Rick ![]() ![]() ![]()

Rick, the scenery looks absolutely wonderful. Good job!!
Yeah, I have found as well that automotive pin striping tape doesn't really stick well to anything but auto bodies... certainly not to track surfaces, reguardless of what they are painted with.
