... some of the latest I plan on testing in New York, they are Acme bodies from Dave Howarth. The driver will be mounted on the gearplate clip and I opened up
the front air intake.

Wow Bill... Sweet looking as are all your cars, but these two look to be a true work of art and look a little lighter... I have been working on one of the
resin type bodies myself, which was one of rogers older bodies but don't like the way they sit on the chassis... I hope to get one of Dave's new bodies
as soon as i see him again. Keep up the cool work!!

Thanks Matt ... I'm waiting on two NOS Indy chassis from DCM in Jersey ( I've had good luck with the lot Dave Simms gotten from REH) and wheels from HO Reproductions (both spinners and moons) to finish them up. Roger's bodies are both light and well detailed but difficult to lower due to their thin casting. Dave's bodies can be easily be lightened and lowered because he "Pressure" casts them and they dremel out like butter. The key is opening up the cockpit and mounting the driver on the plate clamp .... ya gotta get that melon low ! Good luck and we'll see ya in New York .....

very nice bill,i have a question on the rules for this race.what type of axles are allowed?i know it states stock chassis yet the rules cover
most everything but they do not say anything about axles..what type of axles will be permitted? |

Bruce,
I'm going with the stock Aurora "Indy" axle, it is slightly longer than the standard Tjet axle which allows for the larger hubs. I'm not sure where you can buy them seperately though. The rules closely follow the Southern 500 rules and I know that there - Stock chassis means stock axles. Keep on Racing

Fellow Racers,
With only 9 days until the Doyle hauler heads north to New York the DPR stable has neared completion. I added the the HO-Reproduction "Moon" wheels, installed the drivers and mounted the Acme bodies today .... now it's "Test and Tune" time.

  Hey Bruce, How about this one? Is this a little more Indy car
for you? Something that fits in with the early 60s late 50s type of cars..... Had to put this on, This is my backup car that I will be testing at the BEND
Saturday..... Wish I could have finished the decals and detailing, but just for you Buddy!!!!! HMMMMM still looks a little small, wonder how much it weighs?

just got off the phone with austin,sent him a pic of your back up car,he was laughing so hard snots were comeing out his nose.
in between blowing his nose he said the front tires need to be 430 min. |
