I like the off road trucks, but for their cars, on a plastic track , they just about drive me nuts. I've got a 360 Modena kit that I've tweaked to the best of my abilities. They just are so darned unpredictable. Quick as heck on the straights, but will snap off on the curves without any sort of warning. I've done the lead , balanced it, flushed the button mag, etc, but boy howdy, it just frustrates me. It is failry competitive in our Ninco class and I do OK with it, but its a no fun little car to drive. I'm not expecting a Scaley here, nor the predicitability of the newer Carrerra's, but please, at least get me something that handles at least as good as a Fly ! SCX is pretty much like this as well. One of the nastiest problems this particular kit has had is that the body clamps to the chassis like grim death. Take the body off and heat it with a hair dryer, and when the body is warm, pull the body sides apart. Don't get carried away with the heat, do a little at a time. The problem is that the body isn't free to float, so the back end gets snappy. Tell us what other things you've done to the car, and we'll see what we can do to get this car moving properly. Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have< among others, The Supra Yellow Hat and the Supra Esso. Both didnot run well on my Artin track I got some of the magnets, from Michael's craft store, that they sell, You get four on a card for a few dollars. They are about the size of a dime. I super glue one behind the rear axle. Makes a world of difference in how they run! Now we love to drive them. Also I am running at 12 volts. On Scaley track at 14 volts they run well too! Art Love that spell checker!!!!

I will do the heat trick and form the body out a bit. You are pegging this correctly, El, the back end gets terribly snappy. And I DO love me some Horsey cars ! My Stallions are by far the favorites of my collection. Much like my Les Pauls !!

Then with some tires & just a little weight they pretty much drive themselfs. And when your all done with it ... it might not beat the NC-5 vertion. Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have a Carrera track and nothing ran fast on it without a magnet until I took the time to tune the cars. The worst was the Ninco Cobra. NC1 motors help, glue the motor, true and sand tires and wheels, but until you really work in the track you will have to work on driving style. I've even painted my track with rustoleum texture paint to help. The Carrera track also has alloy steel power strips. Takes more magnet then on any other brand of track. Basically it's not the basic Ninco cars as much as it is the track and driving style IMHO Anyone can restore a classic car, but it takes a real Hotrodder to cut one up and make it cool!

I've bought a few, but just about every other make runs better than them on plastic track with mag (even mild magnet set-ups).... I know this will get the Ninco fans out there howling, but as far as I'm concerned, they are not at the top of the heap in the 1/32 scale slot world (and yes I do know a thing or two about the hobby). Having said that I DO LOVE their Paris/Dakar type models, a finer model you will not find! Later, Rupert.... The exhausts stick in the slots in the body and the rear of the chassis rubs on the inside of the body. Widen the slots a little and sand the inside of the body where it touches the chassis. There is also a locating tab on the chassis ahead of the guide, you can cut that away if the body is still clamped tightly front/rear after the work on the rear end.

One other thing worth mentioning is that it's critical to have the tires profiled right, and one of the things that prevents that on NINCO cars is that there is usually a piece of plastic flash on each wheel that needs to be trimmed off. That nub creates a lump under the tire that upsets handling quite a bit. Remove the tires and trim that off, put the tires back on, and profile the tires so that they make full contact with the track surface. And Eddielives is telling you the truth about those NC-1's in that chassis. I'll tell ya...fellas......you're gonna want more cowbell! Rock legend Bruce Dickinson

Their button magnet actually has more downforce on a magnet marshal than Scalextric. It's more forward, therefore, the car isn't quite as stuck. Most NINCO cars I run are without magnets. Weighted properly and with Ortmann/urethane tires you will have better grip. I have their GT cars stock but I only run them in IROC style races where they all stay in the same lane and everyone rotates though the cars. They're quite fun there. I assume you're thinking modern. The Ascari is the best of the lot there. with good wheels and tires, non-mag it's quick, in league with stuff like the Fly EVO2, the SCX Pro-race Audi, and the Spirit Reynard, or Scaleauto Toyota. Not quite as fast as an NSR or Spirit Dallara or Avant Slot. With the chassis heavily modified it's wicked. Very wicked. One of our IHSR competitors did masterful work and expertly transplanted a Slot.it pod into a NINCO GT car and nearly won one of our mod LMP/GT class races with it and clobbered my NSR. That's also part of the problem. NINCO does not use a pod. SCX has gone to a pod with many of theior newer releases. NSR, Slot.it, Scaleauto, and Spirit use them in many of their chassis now. But evidently they think their car is fine as is and I guess it's fine as is if all you do is run their cars against other fo their cars on their track. As for the classics- with 10-12V, trued wheels, and proper weight, the classics are very nice, even up- motored. The NC-1 is a very fine motor, but you can also leave in the NC-5 or install Slot.it motors into the classics and they're very fast. My NINCO Healey (NC-5) and Jag (Slot.it Black motor) are very nice to run if you keep in mind they have high C/G, are relatively narrow and tippy and run on 7mm wide tires. Bob
