So you don't seem to have a problem any more with the idea that the globe is heating. I mean, it's hard to argue with thermometers located in thermal data stations spread all over the oceans, from the surface down to a depth of a mile. You have a problem with the idea that man is contributing to the warming process. Is that right?

Actually I do.
Seems as though the earth has been cooling off lately (according to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).
All the while carbon dioxide emissions are increasing.

But don't worry all you Global Warming Alarmists, these educated idiots have left you an out. See, the spin is that even though temperatures will fall it doesn't mean the earth isn't warming, it's just not cooling as fast.

Target your efforts at reprogramming and reeducating the youth around you.

We're all very familiar with this tactic -- if somebody disagrees with you, give them a label with negative connotations, such as 'alarmist'. Name-calling is always better than actually having reason or data on your side. I'm no alarmist, but I can take a rational look at data, and choose not to ignore large chunks of it for the sake of convenience. This is what our children should be taught to do, instead of being 're-programmed', which is the kind of simplistic brain-washing that's had such a negative impact on rational discussions about important topics over the last 7+ years.

I mentioned before -- cooling and heating are both taking place. You think this is laughable, but every reaction also has a reverse reaction. At the same time an ice cube is melting, some of the water is freezing. In a pot of boiling water, many molecules of water have a temperature below the boiling point -- but you can't look at those molecules and conclude that the water isn't boiling. When you are dissolving sugar in water, sugar is simultaneously re-crystallizing. But since dissolution occurs much faster, the forward reaction is dominant, and eventually all the sugar dissolves (assuming you don't reach saturation before the sugar is completely dissolved). It is all about rates -- the rate of a forward reaction vs. the rate of a reverse reaction. When the rate of the forward reaction is faster than the rate of the reverse reaction, the forward reaction continues to completion. This doesn't mean that the reverse isn't taking place, it's just that the forward reaction is dominant. So when scientists say that there is both warming and cooling, this is consistent with basic principles of chemistry and thermodynamics (you know, the sciences that gave us the internal combustion engine, the jet, etc.)

So, apparently, each person who understands that both the forward and reverse reactions are taking place simultaneously is an idiot according to you. Is it possible that you don't understand the science, so maybe your opinion is off base? I mean, it's ok not to understand something -- but why be a vocal opponent of something you don't even understand? Why not sit tight, keep your eyes and ears open, and leave open the possibility that it's legitimate? Instead, everybody else who already understands the issue becomes an idiot in your eyes...

Lighten up Kurt, the alarmists and they're lap dog media have won the argument. It's over.
All that's left for us to do is laugh at it (and be ready to absorb whatever knee jerk regulations are enacted).
And reprogramming/reeducating/brainwashing are not inherently evil. What I am doing is teaching these kids to interpret data for themselves and not be a sheep in the herd.
