I have notice when guys scratch build cars the lead wires are thicker than what comes on RTR cars. Any advantage to the thicker wires?

I will back up teamster John. Go to Steve Sawtel @ Slot car corner. His is the best hook up wire which you can get and less expensive than anyone else. Note*
he also answers e-mails within a couple of hours. Great guy... great products... you won't be dissapointed.

Unless your motor draws four amps or more, extra copper thickness does nothing but add weight and bulk. Extra-thick insulation (like Slot.It wires) is
excessive, and does nothing (except get jammed up inside the nose). I have used SlotCarCorner wire and it is thin, carries the current, and is flexible.
