That is too funny!
and this part of it is priceless. "No way! This
is weird. I'm going in back...."
"Manager: 'Doesn't he have anything else?' Server: 'Yeah, a fifty. I'll get it and you can open the safe and get change Manager: 'I'm not opening the safe with him in here.' Server: 'What should I do?' Manager: 'Tell him to come back later when he has real money.' Server: 'I can't tell him that! You tell him.' Manager: 'Just tell him.' Server: 'No way! This is weird. I'm going in back. " |

The $2 dollar bill : | ||
|
Hey Pete,
Maybe you should open a "Two Dollar Store" .
My Dad left a strongbox to me after he died, I opened it several weeks later. What was in it? $2 bills! But not the new ones, the old ones from the 1950's. I think Dad was a bit confused toward the end, because my brother's the coin collector, and he got the woodworking tools! (we have since traded)
My 7 yr-old nephew recently took one in for show-and-tell, and his 26 yr-old teacher sent him to the principal's office for "fibbing" when he tried to explain that it was genuine U.S. currency.
Luckily the principal is over 40.

Two ways to look at it.
- $2.00 bills aren't exactly common currency anymore, so to someone who's never seen one - or even heard about them - it's "obviously" a bogus note (but why bother counterfeiting a $2.00 bill? Then again, there was a guy back in the late '40s who punched out phony nickles - there was even a movie based around him). - at the same time, we've raised a pretty clueless generation (waaaay too dependant on electro-mechanicals). The manager should have at least been aware of this denomination (I would have taken it as payment and then kept it as a curiousity piece). The Barbarians are at the gate and the people standing watch can't figure out how to work the lock.

I asked the girl at McDonalds if she had seen one and she said a few times and that they were trained to know odd currency (Suzy B. Dollars, old coins, etc.).
She laughed when I told her this story. I am going to the bank today and ask for one and see if our local Taco Bell is as bad.

Somehow, it feels like there's about to be a rash of 2-dollar-bill-related arrests in the slot car community...
This is weird. I'm going in back.
I'll tell ya...fellas......you're gonna want more cowbell!

Will you guys visit me in jail for passing legal tender? What will be weird is if in Price Hill in Cincinnati if the clerk does not flinch. I'm off to the
bank.

Back in my growing up days, in Illinois, If you got a $2 dollar bill from someone you would assume that they had been to the Race Track. That was where they
used them!

Dad and I have been sitting here reading this and laughing our butts off! I must be among the few "younger" folks (I'm 31) out there that
actually recognise those kinds of bills!
