This time in 1/24th... ...the P-T tires are a bit smaller than the "stock" ones (1 1/6" vs 1 1/4"), but can't find anything taller so might have to live with that. Have only eyed what needs to be done to convert, but I believe I can place the motor (probably a Fox II) under the front seat and keep all the detail. The front axle opening is perfect for 1/8" axles, the rear is a little bigger for some reason, but that's an easy enough fix. There's a flat plate up front that's perfect to drill out for a guide...this one is far easier to convert than the smaller 1/32nd version. Posts: 4577 (04/22/08 03:04 PM) HRW Moderator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Mike - Was thinking about that seeing I'd have to get 2 sets of the H&R...though the 1st pic doesn't show it, the model does have that kind of stagger - 1.25" inside and 1.50" outside rears. I was right about how easy these are to convert - had to grind out an area to clear the crown (32T), took out the seat and cut out an opening on the "firewall" to slip a "green" motor in place (hot glued) and drill a hole on that front plate for a guide...wired it up and off it ran. Albeit not so fast as that motor ain't got the horses for the weight...the Fox II should solve that problem when they arrive. Though I truly admire the handmade craftsmanship of folks like Rick and others that scratch build these cars...I neither have the skill or the patience to do so and this is definitely a fat old lazy man's way around that. Posts: 4578 (04/23/08 10:42 AM) HRW Moderator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Rick & Rocky - Glad you like 'em...got them off of EBAY over in the diecast section (search: sprint) - they're low-detail which makes them far cheaper than the other WoO/Sprint car models...think it was $25 shipped for both. Nice thing about them is that both wings just clip-on so if you like regular sprint cars they don't look that far off without them. Near finished with this one... ...need to get some axle spacers to widen the front track which I hope will cure it's tendency to tip in the turns...just like the smaller ones do. I think I missed something... did you say that these are 1/24 scale DIECAST METAL cars that you converted??? If so... that's too cool!! I was looking at converting the plastic monogram kits but thought (know) that they'll be too fragile.

If it's metal you might try making one of sheet styrene to keep them from being top heavy or just run them non-wing the way sprint cars are really supposed to race.
