Arrold - As to the controller ohmage - probably better to put a 25 ohm resistor in for these motors. At 45 ohms though you can accomodate for the amount of
trigger needed easier on an oval than a road course you'll be better off with the lower ohmage...especially if you go back to the quad. As to braking -
ohmage has nothing to do with that.

Ok Bruce,
Look forward to running them. I finished up the SCX Monday night while watch Memphis stink it up in overtime. Need to look at the weight on the Scaley tonight. I'll ship my cars to you either Friday or Sunday. |

Arrold - Don't send yours yet...play around with mine and then send the whole slew of them back at the same time. I'm putting the finishing touches on
them now so they'll go out Monday.

Took the straight out of the turns. Makes it 24'4". Turned a fast lap 2.44 with the Scaley and 2.50 with the SCX. 25 Laps 1.03.53 with the SCX
1.03.57 Scaley. I think I'm done. Hot glued the weight in tonight. Put a new tire on the right rear of the SCX. I sent you an email about the tire wear
above 150 laps.

I just ran a segmented 300 lap test (my Mad Dog Taurus already has about 250-300 laps on these tires) - a 100 lap run and then a 200 lap run with the first 150
driven "comfortably" with the last 50 as fast as I could.
First, the amount of angle on the outside rear tire did not change from the onset to the end of the test...I don't have a micrometer gauge to measure, but my mm ruler didn't show anything significant. As to performance, as mentioned the best time for this car is a 2.39 - the best time in the first 100 lap test was a 2.48. In the second 200 lap test I reset that fast lap to a 2.34 and throughout the test runs the handling did not drop off. That's about 600 laps or roughly 5 or 6 races worth on these tires and I believe I could get another 600 out of them. (I did not test the two in-line cars as they do not show that wear pattern...yet.) So the K&D's will continue to be the tire used for the Forums Cup...though sending along a spare or two might not be a bad idea.

Arrold,
Your harder compound tires are going out in tomorrow's mail. Let me know how they work. I will send you an email later. Thanks, Kevin |

Mailed off my ole #21 beer wagon your way Monday Bruce. Should be there any day. Improved motor and braking, and the K&D tires are glued on, and lightly trued. Should be a much better running sled this go -around!~ Don't 'test' it to much!

Larry - Will let you know when it arrives and I'll keep the test drive to a minimum - with better brakes it should run much better...at least on my short
track. Thanks for entering again

Larry - Well that was quick - your car arrived safe & sound a little while ago.
Took the liberty of running a 25 lap test drive in both lanes vs the 3-some I have - ran 2nd (2.45) on the outside and 4th (2.66) on the inside. Best lap today was my #8 at 2.41 outside & Alan's #48 at 2.50 inside. That compares to the best 2.77 (outside lane) your car ran in the All-Star race so that's a nice pick up of over 3/10th's. Plenty of speed and braking is better, but a little on the loose side especially on the inside lane.

Not as quick as I had hoped, but I'm hoping the tires will come in during the 'season'...
Thanks, and have fun!
