Posts: 24 (04/11/08 10:52 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I'm not sure if extended use killed my first power base or if it was just a dud, but after a little over an hour it stopped reading cars in the middle of a race and never worked again. After it failed I noticed the base and power pack were pretty hot, with my new base it never gets that hot, but then again, I don't use it more then half an hour before letting it settle down. I had to twist arms to get people to race me before, but with Digital action everybody wants to race non-stop.

We are racing the set hard, having a great time. Had a car arrive doa did a little working on it, now it's great! Kids having a great time. Little problem with cars pitting randomly, but have ordered reed switches and am waiting for them. If they perform as well as everyone says after the switches are replaced will be in slot heaven. Love the set Artin hits a home run. Brian from brshobbies has been increadably helpfull as always. Gotta go challenged by my daughter! She's going down!!!

I put the a lane changer right before each corner so the cars would be slow enough to make the switch. The cars tend to lose power on the changer even when you go straight so they help slow the car a little for the corner. The cars really get some speed up on the big straights and the cars actually draft each other somehow. At first I dismissed this as one car being closer to the power base, but now I have several power taps and it's still doing it. Even if the other person is in the other lane the draft works, just put a car on the lane next to your car and drive by it, depending on how nice your gears are meshing it will move up to 4 inches with no throttle of it's own! Even if your car is slower, if you get it close enough to somebody, the draft brings you right up to their bumper. I'll get some pics and poor quality video(which I have no idea how to host) of it this Tuesday when we are having our next race. We all run the DTM Mercedes without headlights, spoilers, and glass to save power and weight. A couple have paint jobs already to distinguish between them.

Does yours do this, and can 2 cars pit at once? If your doesn't do this tell me what you did right or maybe what you think I did wrong. Also I have ordered 2 more lane changers. I'm hoping that they work independently of each other. Lastly did you notice a dramatic change in performance in your cars once you changed the reed switch?

The lane changers will operate perfectly no matter how many you have. I haven't changed a reed switch yet, I only had 1 car with the problem out of 14 cars so I'm not hurting for chassis. As far as I know replacing the reed switch won't help performance, it will just fix the random pitting and lap counting problems.

Some of you veterans to the hobby probably already know this but anyway; My track is set up on top of my pool table on a ping pong table top. I have a billiard lamp with some strong (very bright) lights on it shining down straight on the track. I noticed that one time I was reaching for a car and the shadow of my hand passed over the lane changer and it started to click. After a few movements of my hand, I noticed subsequent lane changer activation. I turned off the over head lamp (billiard table lamp), perfect performance! My yellow porche I would only use for ghost car cause of the random lane changing and such. Immediately after the overhead light was turned off, 50 lap solo race with 0 errant lane changes or pit stops. Tried with all my other cars, same results. Zero accidental lane changing or random pitting. I tried it over and over zero problems with no overhead lighting! Decided to make a sort of tunnel (used small books) over the lane changer with the overhead light on. Again no problems! If you are having similar problems with your set try this, check you overhead lighting or race with minimal lighting and see if you have the same success!

Posts: 28 (04/16/08 06:56 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	There are 5 of us racing real close the whole time on a 45 foot tri-oval I actually got this video on the 3rd try in this camera position, a miracle since out of hundreds of heats we have only had 2 come to a 5 car field at the end.
