I just got the new Scaley mini and it was just so glued down out of the box for my tastes, so I pulled the magnet and added a ton of lead since it is so
light and I trued the tires and profiled the edges and that improved it immensely, but I am still have problems with wheel hop under acceleration, has anyone
else run the mini non mag, if so how can I cure this problem.

Not non mag, double mags for mine. It was refered to as a "rocket car" by a couple young guys running the Scaley R34 road race Skylines a few weeks
back on an Artin track. Little monster seemed to have no trouble what so ever in keeping up with them on the straight aways, and not much in the corners
either. I take it your's is making a horrible rattling sound when you get on it hard too?

Check to see if there is a lot of movement of the axle bearings.

I will try gluing in the bushings and the motor with hot glue and see if that cures it.

Remove the rear tires and observe how the plastic wheels rotate on the knurled axle at low voltage.
ANY wobble will be magnified exponentially at full track power without the extreme magnetic grip of a strong bar magnet. or you could keep adding lead until you essentially mask the hopping problem  and end up with a turd for a race car.

I got it sorted out now! Trued up the tires and the wheels, added lead and glued in the motor and bushings and it smoothed out nicely, slides well and is a
much better car than it was stock in my opinion. Thanks for the advice!

May have to try the motor and bushing mod, what kind of glue did you use? I'm half thinking about glueing the wheel bearing set for a Losi Micro
T/Baja/Desert Truck/Raminator on the back of my Scaley Mini, Viper, and Z28 T/A inplace of the bushings.
