Stocker Chassis Still Available?? |
Lead | |

Is Artin discontinuing the stocker chassis? I noticed BRS Hobbies no longer has it in the parts section. They also no longer have the stocker replacement
axles. What's the deal??

SCW tells us that the stocker is still available. No worries. Perhaps that particular retailer is out of stock.

I was not planning on posting about this situation, but felt the need to explain, when I saw it in this thread. I pulled the items from the website due to quality issues. When the stocker chassis first came out they were very good, but now when the Stocker chassis and axle sets come in, I usually end up spending an hour to an hour and a half checking each stocker chassis and axle set to make sure that the wheels are true and the tires will sit correctly on the rims. Lately, I have been replacing axles, wheels and tires because of bent axles, wheels that don't run true and/or poorly molded tires. I feel that if someone pays $16.95 for a chassis that the wheels and axles should be relatively true and the tires should fit the rims. Frank has been good about sending replacement parts to replace the items that I end up using to make the chassis and axle sets correct. I am recommending to anyone who would like to buy a Stocker chassis from us to get the Skinny Boy, four Stocker wheels and four Stocker tires. The Skinny Boy and the Fat Boy have been coming in with fewer problems than the Stockers. Please understand that this isn't meant to be a slam on Artin or anyone else. It is just a business decision. For me, it is not worth all
the time it takes to get a product up to the standard that I think is acceptable for my customers.

Thanks Brian for the claraification! I like all the Artin chassis combinations and was unaware of the problems you are
encountering. Thanks for watching out for us. Hopefully the quality control issues will be resolved at Artin. Until then I guess I will have to stick to the
Fat and Skinny Boys. Thanks again for your integrity!

hm I just got a dozen of the stocker chassis in... guess I need to check them out close... I know they came in bag and about half of the rear axles weren't
on the chassis... I jokingly told a couple of the guys they were $16.95 without the rear axle but $20 bucks with them....
I will take a close look at them and have the locals report back to me any problems they have with them... thanks for the heads up Brian. |

I appreciate the support. Just to be clear the Stocker wheels themsleves are very good. It's if they are pushed onto the axles incorrectly that they
don't run true.
Best regards, Brian

STOCKER CHASSIS AND OTHER ARTIN CHASSIS | ||

Hi guys since I am the source for all Artin chassis's both 1/32 and 1/43 in this country, first I want to answer the question of supply we have plenty in
both scales, second on the quality of the stocker chassis it is the same chassis as the fatboy and the skinny no diffference, it is not the chassis , we did
have a very low percent of axles on stockers that when they assembled they pressed to hard and we had a few bent, we replaced them as we always have done on
all the Artin products that weren't right, and I will say this has been a super low percentage for the 1000's of chassis that we sell, it is a dealer
choice to decide what he wants to stock , and if you have trouble you can always go to Slot Car World and buy chassis every day of the week !
Thanks Frank at SCW NORTH AMERICA

It's interesting to read this because I've got 4 Artin stocker chassis in the last month.. All 4 have had VERY BAD wheels.. severe wobble.
I've got 2 more coming from Gene that I should have Monday. I'm interested to see how the wheels are on those two. Frank, Do I have any return process I can take on the wheels/axels to make sure I get some that I can use? Thanks. Kev
