What I use is .030 PETG plastic. It is what pop bottles are made out of. I'm not sure if my thickness is the same as what they start out with however. I
have a place local to me called Plastic Depot, and I get 2 4'x8' sheets for about $65. I cut them down into 12"x12" squares to use on my
table. I built my table to that size so it works perfect for me.
Do a few Google searches, you should be able to find some good info out there. |

Styrene and PVC can be used. Sheet styrene can usually be had at hobby supply places. In any event, do NOT do this inside your house without open windows and
piles of fans running. The fumes from heating the plastic are very toxic, and known carcinogens in many cases. The best bet is to make a hood from a heating
element or use a big toaster oven out in the garage with the door open.

I have to add my (secret) source for sheet styrene.
Its at least good to practice with. I use it for all my scatch building.

for my 1/43rd bodies, i use 0.02" PETG (clear)
you can also use Lexan (PC), but it is more expensive Peter |
