To add to what others have said, if you go off ebay and give him MORE than the agreed price, then he is technically operating outside of ebay rules. He pays
fees on a $125 sale and gets over twice that? I don;t think I'd go for it. My fears would be that it ends up with everyone angry and tossing negative
feedbacks, or that you stick to your guns and he sends you busted up stuff because you wouldn't agree to pay more.
Imo, he shoulda started the bidding higher if he wanted higher.
I don't envy you in this situation. I know I've "lost" money on a lot of my sales, but I put it out there at what I am willing to accept, so that's my thing to deal with if it doesn't go for what I feel like it should.
And I don;t know that I'd fall for the "kids" excuse. IT is the 'net afterall. Could be a ruse. Not that it is, but could be. Ebay is rife with ppl taking advantage of others.

Forgive me for having a heart and conscious. 
Like I said, there have been MANY people from this site that have done nice things for my boys at a loss to themselves. I try and
approach this hobby the same way. That's the only reason that I would even consider not buying this stuff.
