Well, while the wife and I were looking for a new place to live in the Alliance area, we went into the Carnation Mall located in Alliance Ohio (about halfway
between Canton and Salem) walking around the mall I see a corner display with some Parma Flexi cars and some controllers. "Hmmmm..." I say to myself
"I must investigate this!"
So I take a walk to the Information Center and ask the lady about the display and she tells me to knock on the door next to it. Low-and-behold there is a NEW slotcar race center right there in the mall!
His name is Jim, and the name of the place is "Start Your Engines" and it is right inside the mall area.
He can be reached at 330-680-4300
Racing will be Tuesdays thru Saturdays 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and Sunday 11:00 - 5:00
He has a nice tri-oval, another track for 1:32/1:24 and a smaller 4-lane HO track set-up. He does sell cars, controllers, and misc. what you'd find for a guy starting out. Nothing real big, but somewhere where I'm going to stop in occasionally time-to-time to support a local track-owner. Oh, and for the little ones there is a track for those Tamiya battery operated cars to fly around in.
It has potential and for us married guys it's good for some "quality time". You know, you race... she shops... everybody's happy!
