What beautiful cars but the first chassis was marginal and the MRRC chassic and components worse. I have the 904 and the Chappy. After running the 904, I bought the Chappy anyway but unless our racing group decides to race them my basically stripping out the guts, it is a shelf queen - and I don't have shelf queens! Still its hard to fault with them or any of the mfrs. I'm just glad there is such a great selection and they all look pretty darn good. Pat

I know I would THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS.----------mike It isn't the depth of the guide that is a problem, it is the length that makes them bind in tight turns. The track at Bud's doesn't have compound curves, or a cork screw turn. I have built tracks using Carrera and you just can't get it to do what I want to do. I wish I could use Carrera because I like the wide lane spacing. We tried long guides in 1/24th scale open/Grp7 racing back in the 60s, but we found they caused too much friction due to binding in the turns. For coming up with strange setups of magnets/motors/gearing/brakes, all of which are imperfectly executed and hard or impossible to fix. And for making me realize that the old cars from my childhood were far nicer when they existed only in my memory, instead of taking advantage of decades of progress in molding and design and making cars that would be state of the art NOW. Fly is a runner-up, for not addressing persistent quality control problems and for failing to address traditional and stupid design decisions (most obvioiusly, placing motors just far enough forward to prevent tthe use of solid front axles).
