Painting:
Two coats of latex primer, three coats yellow and red in the slots, masking tape over the slots, two coats magnetic paint, two more coats latex primer (after this picture). Lots of sanding!
Level One TRAINS - In 2001 I got into trains and built a layout in this same room, but the track rusted during the rainy season. Ripped it up and bought a couple of Carrera sets. The nickel-silver Carrera uses resisted rusting very well so I decided to give Atlas O Gauge Nickel-Silver train track a go. The 1/32 car is shown for scale. Table is 5' on one end, 4' on the other end, length is 10'.
Level Two SLOT CARS - 16" higher is where the slot track is going to go. Level 1 os 32" and Level 2 is 48". This puts the track eye level. As you can tell I wanted it all! It'll be a couple of weeks before anything is running. This is the second routed track for me, the first one was a learning experience. If I had the room I'd set up the Carrera too.
