I played Jazz, Blues, and Rock on a Horn(Olds Ambassador Silver Bell) for many years. I also play Rock and Roll on my Les Paul Standard, and Special. But I got
my Right hand destroyed by a PK round, and now only two fingers work so I had to stop playing.

I used to play guitar, bass, drums. Did drums in school and longer, so was better there. But taught myself enough guitar to have fun with SRV CDs.
Wasn't bad "back in the day", so to speak. Kept all my stuff and now my 7 y/o son is wanting to learn to play. So we bought a book and
I'm trying to help him learn and trying to play some again myself. Got an old strat copy (aspen - not bad quality) and a 66 Muscimaster II. Seems as
though my fingers have swelled since then (20 yrs).

"Seems as though my fingers have swelled since then (20 yrs)."
Really? I haven't noticed that myself, Randy.
Seriously, I have noticed that the more I play, the better I can think, move my hands, etc. It is great therapy. My grandaughter wants to learn guitar now, so I am going to be teaching her soon. Teaching really helps. Have fun!

Today actually marks 20 years playing for me. Got my first guitar for 12th birthday. Today I got a new combo amp from my wife.
Have been tinkering with bass for 2 years now, can play drums rather well and at Christmas I got my first keyboard since I was 7. I can play anything a "traditional" hard rock / metal band uses, but put me near a wind instrument or violin and I can make a deaf dog whine and run for cover! I have my 9 yr old learning guitar, 11 yr old is doing well on bass and my 13 yr old is really coming along in her 2nd year of guitar. My goal is to get my wife playing and then tour in a bus like the Partidge family. Including jump suits. ~Sean |

I was married to a girl who could play the chello, guitar, trombone and piano...me? The trumpet (I was, and am a HerbAlpert fan..(Highway 101 is a great
driving/racing song!) and the Harmonica....I'm a Jimmy Buffett fan too , so it was a natural progression.Oh, yeah, I sing when I'm drinking and
cooking.....I'm told I'm not too bad...AND I know the words to every song I've every listened to in my life....won a lot of dough on bets that
way....

I play bass guitar and fool around with the 6-string every once and awhile. I got my first bass when I was in 10th grade in (gasp) 1989. My first lesson was
from a friend who headed-up a band and needed a bass player - "this is G, this is C and here's D - that's all you need to know for now."
Great first lesson -

I've been playing the harmonica for more than 42 years and am presently teaching myself the bowed psaltery and the Irish horn whistle. Think Titanic--the
movie.

I've been playing piano (by ear and reading music) for almost 50 years and saxophone for 42 years. Now I'm thinking about buying a dulcimer. Time flies
when you're having fun.
