Morning moto was at 10:00 for him and the rains had held off for the most part, I told him not to bother getting the holeshot but to ride using his head and gain position that way - it was the nastiest holeshot corner I've ever seen - he came through the holeshot corner in a pile of bikes but burst out in third, at the end of lap one, steep uphill with a bad stepup jump on it where you lost momentum so bad you had to drop 2 gears mid air, well teh kid in first shot off it left into the bushes, the kid in second went right and stalled, Dylan went through the middle and grabbed the lead and ran with it. End of the second lap - he had a huge lead so I signal him to slow it down to reduce the chance of a solo yardsale. By the 4th lap - I guess he didn't realize they were coming up on his slow a$$ and he looked over his shoulder and decided - crap - I better turn it on - him and a buddy had a great battle for 2 laps to the finish - Dylan did walk away in the last 150 feet because he went WFO in 4th at the jump, preloaded, got a great launch and turned right mid air to the final off camber stretch while his buddy lost all momentum over the jump again - D took the win - His buddy and him were doing the victory dance - funny to watch! he loved the race and track - said he could have done without the bike wash - he was soaked head to toe!!!
Unfortunately, by 2 pm we got a monsoon which turned the track into a mud pit and the afternoon races were cancelled.
He's about 25 point ahead of the pack right now - I got some bike repairs to do this week - water pump impeller and seals as well as a new rear tire since 3 race days ate this one.
